Calvary Youth Group will be sending a short-term mission team this summer to help with Hurricane Florence disaster relief . We will be traveling to Conway, South Carolina.  Hurricane Florence brought floodwaters and storms through this whole area devastating those in its path. Our mission team will be joining together with TeamEffort missions, a non-profit organization based in Jacksonville, Florida, that organizes the disaster relief camps. There is so much need in this community after Hurricane Florence.  We are excited to see what God is going to do through showing the love of Christ to families who live there.  Our mission team consists of Jr/Sr. High students and adults from Calvary Independent Church.

Our team is already meeting to prepare for our week of working, engaging others and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ thru serving others. Our week of ministry will consist of serving the communities in this area by working to repair homes to bring them back to livable conditions. The work projects are construction based projects helping those in need in the community. The work can consist of drywall repair, painting, roof repair or yard cleanup.

Although you may not be able to go to South Carolina with us this summer, you can partner with us in two areas.  Would you consider joining our prayer team and PRAY FOR US as we prepare and go to serve?  Prayer is a very powerful tool that God gives us to practice our faith and reliance on Him.

Another prayer request is that each member of our team needs to raise financial support to cover food, lodging, ground transportation, and other necessities for the trip. You can be an answer to prayer by joining our support team as a financial partner. Would you consider joining our team with a financial gift? No matter what the amount, God will use your financial partnership to allow us to serve this summer.  If you are not able to give financially, please join our support team as a prayer partner.

If you choose to commit to our prayer support or financial support team, you can also follow the CYG Facebook page before, during, and after our trip so that you can keep up to date with our specific needs and current progress.
