We are an Independent Church

Major distinctions of Calvary Independent Church:

The major distinctions are its emphasis on the worship of God.  Its practical teaching of the Word of God, providing fellowship and reaching out to the community. An independent church emphasizes the Bible as the only way to know Jesus Christ, God's Son, and come to understand the purpose and meaning of life.  We believe that the church and family need each other.  Because of that, we believe we have a great deal of value to the community.  In a day of complex issues and family problems, we believe we can play an important role in the development of the family and indivdual family members.

Activities of Calvary Independent Church:

Calvary Independent Church offers a variety of ministries through Sunday School, Awana Youth Clubs, Children and Adult choirs, Youth Programs, etc. - all of which are coordinated by a large staff of caring adults who love children and adults.

An independent church is a group of believers in Jesus Christ who holds to the historic Christian Faith.  During the early 1900's many churches began to deny truths presented in the Bible.  As a result, leaders and laymen formed new churches not connected with any denomination.  They often began with home Bible classes or small Sunday schools.  An independent church such as ours is not affiliated with any denomination and is therefore governed by its own constitution and the church government which the constitution sets forth.

Calvary Church is striving to "Lovingly lead people to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to faithfully follow him."  Built upon the Word of God:"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV) Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37 NIV) "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)
